| The latest news from the group. |
Well, the winter is threatening to get set in, snow and frost around the corner and for some a break from modelling. The 2012 season started well with a good day at Benson and the NMRA winter meet with nearly every member of our group turning up to play trains which gave some of us a bit of time to mingle among friends and catch up. As previously mentioned, big for 2012 will be the organising of the NMRA BR convention, for which we have been given the honour of running. I know this is new for all of us so good planning will be needed to make sure the show goes without a hitch.
The shows website, our sister one, can be found at www.soar-valley-ltd.co.uk, this new site will give all the information about the NMRA show in October 2012. Next on our agenda is our AGM and open day at Viney Hill, I personally like this event as I have no planning to do as other members do this to give me a rest from doing it. It is also nice to have a three day event to enjoy playing trains without worrying about the rush to setup and dismantle the layout quickly. Also because of the venue we can get different modules to attend and have a big but different setup. I am still slowly working on my locomotives, will they ever get finished, and also refining my designs of the new boards, I will get around to building them at some point, nothing wrong with proper planning (well thats what I tell myelf.) So that is all for now. Here's to happy railroading. Happy modelling :) (Gavin) |
